gnarled hands or fingers are twisted, rough or difficult to move, usually because they are old.

hurl V

I had hurled a pebble at the bear when no one was watching.

to throw something with a lot of force, especially because you are angry.

文中很多地方提到扔都用的hurl.

muster V.

文章很多地方都用到elbow. 讲爸爸和ALi聊得过去，Baba elbow了Ali，Assef围堵Hassan也用elbow，文中有一些名词作动词，很简单形象。

Sentences

I am lost in a snowstorm. The wind shrieks, blows stinging sheets of snow into mu eyes. I stagger through layers of shifting white. I call for help but the wind drowns my cries. I fall and lie panting on the snow, lost in the white, the wind wailing in my ears. I watch the snow erase my fresh footprint.

不知道这是第几次画面描写了，每一个动词和形容词都是一副图。shriek有形有声，把呼啸而过的风吹到耳边。sheets of snow而不是简单的lots of snow,stagger写出了雪厚，且是layers of shifting white.棒呆！

我没晕过车，但这描述能让人体会。

很多时候想表达那种海市蜃楼自欺欺人的虚幻，可以借此表达。

Summary

It is hard to make a summary of these two paragraphs,the feeling is so complexing that I nearly forget what I have read the minute I finish my reading. Pity for Amir changes into anger and unforgiveness。 For Hassan I do not know what I should say.

Two memories and a dream pop in and from which we can tell that Amir has been tortured ever after. He cannot help of noticing Hassan and avoiding him every day because he does not know how to face him. Because of his heroic trump, Baba and Amir have enjoyed a rarely close father-son-relationship. He is the beloved son and baba is his dearest father. He brags everywhere for his winning, and throws a huge birthday party for him except on which, he sees Hassan is serving Assef, and Amir, this time, hiding into the dark and does nothing again.

随感

无论Amir做了什么，我始终把他看作一个长久渴望得到爱而无法满足，继而有些软弱，有些自我隐藏，有些虚荣的小孩子。但是，在面对Hassan为他做的一切，在面对那样一份忠贞却仍然选择自我保护的他依旧让我愤怒和悲伤。愤怒的不是面对Hassan的困境不挺身而出，而是之后的掩藏，为了父亲那份不踏实的短暂的重视一次次选择伤害。或许他太弱小了，他害怕，他越陷越深，谎言越来越多，或许有个人帮助他一切都会不一样。但仍然，面对Amir的种种选择，无法不愤怒，甚至无法原谅。Amir的父亲也无法让人原谅。但更让我震撼的是Hassan，作为一个成人，我甚至读不懂他的那份忠贞。即使读得懂他的默默承担，也读不懂他一再的主动示好。是彻底的原谅还是对友谊的渴望？我只知道，我很久没有被一个人这么感动了。

看到这样截然不同的两个小孩，我一直想为人父母究竟应该怎样对待自己的孩子？换句话，怎样成长出来的孩子才会最大可能拥有完善的人格？Hassan拥有什么，而Amir又缺失什么？一个孩子最需要的显然不是钱，是爱和关注，是可以让他切身感受到的爱和关注，而不是大街上随处可见的“好吃好喝供着你，你还想怎么样！”
