In this chapter, C.S. Lewis explains the incarnation ofJesus, how redemption works, and what it means for us in terms of Jesus's death, resurrection, and ascension. Lewis uses the tin toy soldier as ananalogy, but here Jesus is turning from God into a "tin soldier,"becoming a man.

Lewis further explains that what Jesus has done for us impacts the whole human mass—like dropping into a glass of water one drop of something that gives a new taste to the whole lot. The process of becoming a son of God, of being turned from a created thing into a begotten thing, has been done for us.

At the end of this chapter, C.S. Lewis lists a few other accurate ways to explain how redemption works. He reminds us to adopt the explanation that appeals to us and not to quarrel with those who hold different opinions.
