精力管理需全情投入

We discovered something completely unexpected: The performance demands that most people face in their everyday work environments dwarf those of any professional athletes we have ever trained.

我们发现了令人出乎意料的事情:大部分人在日常工作中的精力需求要比我们训练的专业运动员高的多!!!

How is that possible?

这怎么可能呢?

It’s not as anomalous as it seems. Professional athletes typically spend about 90 percent of their time training, in order to be able to perform 10 percent of the time. Their entire lives are designed around expanding, sustaining and renewing the energy they need to compete for short, focused periods of time. At a practical level, they build very precise routines for managing energy in all spheres of their lives—eating and sleeping; working out and resting; summoning the appropriate emotions; mentally preparing and staying focused; and connecting regularly to the mission they have set for themselves. Although most of us spend little or no time systematically training in any of these dimensions, we are expected to perform at our best for eight, ten and even twelve hours a day.

这看起来很反常,实际上不然:通常专业运动员花90%的时间用于训练,这是为了在占用10%时间的比赛中取得成果!他们的整个生活是围绕着拓展、保持和恢复精力设计,以满足短期高强度的比赛。在现实生活中,他们建立了严格的日常活动全方位地管理精力:饮食和睡眠、锻炼和休息、调控情绪、心理准备和保持专注、定期回顾自己设定的目标。我们大部分人没有接受过这些方面的系统培训,但我们期望(被期望)能够高精力最佳状态地每天工作8-12小时!

Most professional athletes also enjoy an off-season of four to five months a year. After competing under extraordinary pressure for several months, a long off-season gives athletes the critical time that they need for rest and healing, renewal and growth. By contrast, your “off season” likely amounts to a few weeks of vacation a year. Even then, you probably aren’t solely resting and recovering. More likely, you are spending at least some of your vacation time answering email, checking your voice mail and ruminating about your work.

大部分专业运动员能够每年享受的4-5个月的淡季休假。在参加数月的高强度竞技比赛后,淡季长长的假期让运动员有至关重要的休息和康复、恢复和成长。相反,大部分人的“淡季”假期加起来也不过几周。即便如此,大部人也不是纯粹地(完全地)休息和恢复,更可能的是,总是要花一些时间回复邮件、查看语音邮件和思考工作的事情。

Finally, professional athletes have an average career span of five to seven years. If they have handled their finances reasonably well, they are often set for life. Few of them are under pressure to run out and get another job. By contrast, you can probably expect to work for forty to fifty years without any significant breaks.

最后,专业运动员的职业生涯一般只有5-7年。若是他们能够合理地打理财务,接下来的生活衣食无忧的。只有极少数人在压力下出去奔波找工作!相反地,大部分人要日复一日地工作40-50年!

我的思考My Thinking

慢慢品味作者的观点,我明白了为什么那么多人说自己整天活得很累,抱怨不容易,原来是大部人每天需要高精力、高效地工作8-12个小时啊,这直接把一个人人掏空了!下了班后又不知道如何恢复精力,以为刷微信、看电视、葛优躺就是休息,结果第二天还是很疲劳地去工作!这种状态很很有可能持续40-50年!现在法定退休时间不断在延长呢!
After digesting Author's words, I'm understanding why so many peoples feel very tired and complain every day: most people have to perform at their best for 8-12 hours daily, which really exhaust and empty them! Further, they don't know how to renewal/recover themselves and "relaxing" by social networking using Wechat, watching TV, Mr. Potato and go to work next tired which may last 40-50 years. Statutory retirement age is extending!

看着运动员基本是在训练,我们觉得他们很累,这绝对是假象!他们大部分人热爱训练和比赛,他们专注训练和比赛,然后有长长的假期(我上学时也没有这么长假期,现在工作了只有15天的带薪假期,当然还有大把比我更惨的!),最关键的是他们合理地打理财务后可以一辈子过得很好!我参加的精力管理专业培训讲师就是运动员,他服役了6年5个月,然后在28岁退休!然后进修了心理和运动康复,然后创办了精力管理的公司!他真是活出了别人的好几辈子啊!
We think the athletes are training a lot and they're tired and this an illusion! Most of them love and focus on trainings and competitions, then enjoy the long off-season vacations(I never had such long holidays even I was a student. I have paid leave up 15 days a year and more lucky compared to many others) , most meaningfully if they handle their finance properly and they can live well! The instructor of Energy Management training is an excellent athlete who retired at 28 after 6 years 5 months' professional service. Then he studied Exercise Physiology & Sports Therapy and years later he founded his company. His life goes beyond several times of others.

经过对比,不难发现,“让你陷入困境的,并不是这个世界;真正让你陷入困境的,是这个世界并非你所想象”。
By comparison, it's not difficult to conclude “The trouble with the world is not that people know too little; it's that they know so many things that just aren't so.

”大部分人没有认识到精力管理的重要性,处于无名状态,更不用提系统学习或参加精力管理的培训了!在这方面我是非常幸运的,有过系统培训,也在践行着,因此精力状态也很好!
Most people are not aware of the importance of Energy Management and are Unknown, not to mention systematic learning or attend Energy Management training. I'm super lucky to attend professional Energy management training and enjoying the good Energizing state.
