故事原文
King David of Israel was the bravest man in the world at that time. But there were two things he feared and hated: spiders and madmen.
King David fought a battle with his neighbours. The battle was defeated. King David's troops were damaged a lot and the enemy pursued him. King David had to withdraw from the frontier war with his loyal followers. The trusted followers were scattered by gunfire, leaving David king alone. Seeing that the enemy was about to catch up, King David found a hidden cave nearby and decided to hide in it first.
King David went into the cave, and there was a spider in the cave. After King David went in, the spider quickly sealed the hole.
King David heard a group of soldiers coming out of the cave and someone said, "Look, there is a cave here. He must be hiding here."
"It's impossible. Look at the spider web. It's still complete. It must not be here. Let's look for it elsewhere."
King David saved his life in such a dangerous way.
Another time, King David was surrounded by the enemy and could not find any way to get away. What should I do? The enemy will soon find it here. So he tore up his clothes, put his hair down, and grabbed a handful of yellow mud to wipe his face, pretending to be mad and foolish.
The enemy knows King David's good looks and neatness. He never doubts the dirty madman standing in front of them. He lets him go and interrogates others. King David just managed to escape.
From then on, King David changed his attitude and said to people, "Nothing in the world is useless. No matter how small it is, we must not despise it."
