I was once told that one year of a dog’s life is equivalent to ten years of a human’s life. — It’s not quite like that.

It depends on the breed of the dog: large breeds have a faster aging rate than small breeds.

Also, it depends on their life stage; the aging time of a puppy is different from that of an adult dog.

But the point is that the biological age of our dog does not coincide with the chronological age.

One year of ours can be the equivalent of ten years of a Saint Bernard.

And this gives me a lot to think about. Because you may be going to work for a day for your dog may be the equivalent of 10 days without seeing you. And maybe that’s why they don’t want to miss the opportunity to jump on and hug us every time we get home.

Lesson: life slips away from us, and no one knows how much time is left; if only we could feel the same gratitude that our dog feels when he sees us arrive for the presence of our loved ones when we get home, our life would be better, our family would be better: the world would be better.
