Deal with fears (Mark Twain)

Humans inherently fear that which we do not understand, do not know, or can not see. In many ways fear is a great equalizer. We all have it. But as Mark Twain, an American humorist and author, points out, fear does not have to be a bad thing. By coping with our anxieties, individuals and communities have the opportunity to become stronger, tighter. It is this courage that allows us to face our fears in the eyes and overcome them. Of course, no matter how strong we become, deep down there will be lingering moments of dread. But we don't have to let these feelings dictate who we are or how we live.

So for today, when fear rises up within us, find some amount of comfort in Twain's words --- a reminder that we do not need to be fearless to do great things. No matter what life throws at you, take a deep breath and confront it. You are strong. You can do this.
