Absolute salinity is the ratio of the mass of dissolved matter in seawater to the quality of seawater. Since the absolute salinity cannot be directly measured, the corresponding salinity definition is introduced in practical applications as the salinity measurement method changes and improves.

The practical salt standard is still to determine the salinity of seawater by means of conductivity. Our app calculates the salinity by conductivity, temperature and pressure. It overcomes the problem of seawater salinity standards being affected by changes in seawater composition.
