In his own lifetime Galileo was the centre of violent controversy; but the scientific dust has long since settled, and today we can see even his famous clash with the Inquisition in something like its proper perspective. But, in contrast, it is only in modern times that Galileo has become a problem child for historians of science.

The old view of Galileo was delightfully uncomplicated. 1.双唇收圆并稍稍突出，上下齿微闭；

2.舌头稍微上卷，舌尖靠近上齿龈，但不要贴住，送气；

4.让口腔内气流从舌面与上腭间缝隙中挤出时摩擦成音；

5.类似汉字“日”的普通话发音。

练习感悟：

1.今天的材料里碰到了人名和不熟的单词。其中Aristotelian这个单词让我每每读到这儿就卡壳儿，多次反复后发现，原来是我重音没读对。

同时我发现今天材料里there和together出现了，因为它俩的音标里有个/ð/，今天稍微留意了下，感觉这个音标里的组合没那么难读。不像今天的usual，我听发音讲解的时候，想了好久，怎么会有这么神奇的发音!!!硬是把我的舌头变得都不是我自己的了!!!没想明白到底/ʊ/是怎么过渡到/l/的，天哪!!!这神奇的过渡(ﾟДﾟ)ﾉ我只好一直听，一直试着发出这种音，我弟还在一旁模仿，古灵精怪地。最后发出来一条还不错的语音，主要是一直模仿usual的发音，总算是比之前读的稍微好那么点。
