Everyone has to meet difficulties in life, and I’m no exception, for sure. The times has still remained vivid till the present day. Back in my high school days, I had seemingly insurmountable difficulties in learning and getting good grades on my academic performance, which really upset me. Though I devoted myself so much to studying, I still couldn’t catch up with my classmates. I always felt ashamed of my incompetence in learning efficiently and effectively, which led to my lack of confidence in almost every aspect in school life. I was mentally devastated at that time, not knowing how I should have thought myself.
I was at a loss what I should do to make the situation take a turn for the better during that time, and it was Merry, my best friend, who always stood by me and encouraged me with some uplifting quotes to keep improving myself. The way she talked to me was etched in my memory, and it was her gesture of kindness and tenderness that made me have a thoroughly new perspective of myself. She was adept at learning, especially in Math. So whenever I had questions, I could turn to her for help and she was always more than willing to help, which gave me a sense of security. Through her dedication and my constant studying, I finally had an immense progress in terms of my grades. The most precious thing was that I learned the essence of grit and perseverance. Only by means of constant hard working can improve myself. And I got to believe I could achieve whatever I set my mind to.
