Here's Why Disney World Doesn't Have Mosquitoes
    来源: https://www.southernthing.com
There is a lot that goes into making Disney World the "Most Magical Place On Earth."
Considering Walt Disney World is smack dab in Central Florida, there is one thing missing from the massive property that you may not have even noticed: mosquitoes.
Though they haven't been completely eradicated, mosquitoes are extremely hard to come by in the various amusement parks at Walt Disney World, despite the geographical location and even the various water-based amusements, lakes and ponds all around.

Naturally, this is due to efforts from Walt Disney World staff to ensure health among guests and a uniform consumer experiences.
So, how do they manage to do it?
Disney employs a two-pronged effort called the "Mosquito Surveillance Program" to ward off the buzzing pests and keep visitors safe from the threat of disease.
Across the numerous parks at Disney World are more than 60 carbon-dioxide traps.
Mosquitoes are attracted to the gas, which is one reason why they are so good at finding humans, as we breathe it out constantly.
Once caught, the mosquitoes are then frozen and studied in labs where experts discover the best ways to keep mosquitoes off of our skin when we arrive on-site.
Additionally, Disney keeps sentinel chickens throughout the parks. Due to the birds' immunity to mosquito-borne viruses such as West Nile, they can be used to detect the presence of the virus without experiencing any harmful symptoms thereafter.
The chickens are kept in coops, unlike flying birds who would roam long distances. So, if a virus is detected, it is easy for Disney to pinpoint exactly which parts of their park has been affected by viral mosquitoes.
Occasionally, Disney has had to close certain sections of their park during peak times for mosquitoes and amend events by moving outdoor functions inside to keep guests safe.

I said that she walk smack-dab into the vegetable display. Smack-dab means exactly or right.
