Yesterday on my way to work, I saw many students walking towards school with a bunch of flowers in their hands and even some vendors selling flowers in front of a middle school. "Oh wow, what's happening ?" I wondered at first. Then I realized it was Teachers' Day.
Teachers's Day sounds an antique thing to me. It's been more than ten years since last time I sent my teachers flowers. Speaking of my teachers, the first one pops up in my head is my head teacher in high school. He taught us Chinese. However, I have long forgotten what he taught. All I remember is how rigorous and passionate he was. He would literally ask you to go home to have a change if you were wearing fashionable clothes or dyed your hair. Nevertheless, you would never feel bored in his class, because he was very knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches. He wasn't lack of humor and always made us laugh throughout the class.
The second teacher that I can think of is my head teacher from middle school. He was more like a friend to us. We loved to tell him everything, good and bad. He was a good listener. One thing that impressed me most is that he gave us opportunities to get on stage and be a teacher while he were sitting down as a student. What a great teacher!! He was a supporter not a dictator to help students to fully discover their own potentials. I think that is how a teacher meant to be.
Happy Teachers' Day to all my teachers! I know they can't hear me but I pray for them in my heart!
