“at sixes and sevens”译为“乱七八糟” 为什么可以这么翻译?
这是个典故,源于掷骰子游戏。
骰子是个正六面体,面分别刻有一至六点。假如掷骰子者一次同时用两个骰子投掷出一个六点和一个四点,也有可能两个骰子均为六点。显然,其骰子的投掷必定是没有章法的、乱糟糟的。
