题记
新年快乐。
睡一觉起来就是炙热的2017，不知道从哪里看到过，学习需要有仪式感。其实，什么事情都是这样。一日之计在于晨，那一年之计就在于今天，新的一年，希望有个不一样的自己。
希望每位有缘人读到这里收到笔者诚挚的祝福，2017年，平安顺利，心想事成。
2017年一定要多读书，还要有输出，之前看书看过就过，但是记下的东西实在太少，都称不上真正意义上的读书。所以学会如何读书是第一步，跟随Eric的脚步，于是邂逅了《How To Read A Book》。

Here by "learning" is meant understanding more, not remembering more information that has the same degree of intelligibility as other information you already possess.
这里的“学习”指的是理解更多的东西，不是记忆更多的信息——即那些你已经获得的同水平的信息。
Outline
Summary
A piece of writting in these pages is divided into five parts.At the begining, the writer mentions about a modern phenomenon that it seems to be unneccessary for people to think because of the designed media.
Then, the author takes an analogy (reading is as much an activity as catching the ball to some degree. ) to illustrate that reading must be active. What's more, he believes that the more actively you read, the more efficiently you do.
In the next part, he describes three goals of reading(for information,understanding or entertainment). If you understand perfectly everything the author has to say, you may have gained information, hence, you can increse your understanding. If met with anything that you do not understand, you can look for someone who reads better than you or try to understand by yourself. Any book that can read for understanding or information can probably be read for entertainment.
In addition, the author tells us the reading as learning. As is known to us, there are two ways of learning.(learning by introduction and learning by discovery)The first one is taught by someone,and the second is without any help of others. Generally speaking,In the course of learning, thinking plays a role in both ways.
Finally, the author points out the difference between with a living teacher and with absent teachers to make sure the primary goal of reading---reading and learning alone from books.
后记
短短的15页大概反反复复看了好几遍，每一遍读都有不一样的感觉。第一次如此精读文章，感觉好到停不下来。
惊讶于该书第一版发行于1940年，作者的很多话语在今天看来都十分精辟。
It is for those whose main purpose in reading books is to gain increased understanding.
首先作者提出了自己的观点，这本书是写给那些想把读书的主要目的当作增进理解力的人而写。不经想想自己以前的读书目的到底是什么？好像是为了获取更多的知识。读历史书，是为了了解那些朝代，那个时期都发生了什么，读传记，是为了了解那个人的生活，读小说，好像是因为身边人推荐给我读；诸如此类，还有很多书，可能就是因为排行榜分数，身边人推荐之后我们才读，很少有人清楚的认知自己的读书目的。
The very media we have mentioned are so designed as to make anything seem unnecessary(though this is only an appearance).
那个时代里人们的注意力往往被电视、收音机等吸引，而如今我们大部分的时间不知不觉在微博、淘宝、朋友圈等互联网的社交平台上度过，越来越难沉下心来好好的读一本书。最重要的是，可以沉静下来好好的思考。信息化的时代，我们的注意力太容易分散，一部剧，一期综艺，一条微博，一个朋友圈都足以扰乱想读书的心。
Reading is a complex activity, just as writing is. It consists of a large number of seperate acts, all of which must be performed in a good reading. The person who can perform more of them is better able to read.
以前读书读过就过，所以从来不觉得是件复杂的事，今天让自己精读在学着写读书笔记后，发现读书就像作者所说挺复杂的。确实，凡事都不容易，但是用心做也不难。这大概就是所谓的“世上无难事，只怕有心人。”经受过洗礼，才会做得越来越好。就像是经历了读书的各个过程，执行好各项活动，才会达到更好的效果。
总结
以前读书没有目的，以后读书一定要有目的性，不能盲目。.
读书就是学习，越主动收益越好，同时更要学会独立思考。
读书一定要学会写笔记，不然不如不读。
