城阙辅三秦，风烟望五津。
与君离别意，同是宦游人。
海内存知已，天涯若比邻。
无为在歧路，儿女共沾巾。

In the heart of Qin land, our Capital safely stands,

While foggy ferries in Shu are far beyond our gazes.

Sorrowful I feel to have to part with you:

Officials we’re both, assigned to distant posts.

Bosom friends we are regardless of how far apart—

Neighbours can’t be closer than us deep in heart.

Now we bid farewell at where our paths diverge.

Let us not shed tears like sentimental youngsters.
