Interesting and Informative
1. offer something stimulating or controversial at the beginning!!!!
2. watch them as they watch you
3. Really really important: be able to explain where do we come from, where are we, where are we going, if the lecture is one of a series!!!!!!!!

4. never read from a script. feel like a conversation.
[memorize the sequence of important things to run through. try not to refer to the notes, ideally.]
[write down versions have long sentences, but should speak in short ones, and keep the sentence structures varied; short, relatively long...]

12. let the students to ask questions!!! to answer the questions: let the students know that they know part of the answers, or even all of the answers!
13. make analogies. make familiar ones
1. stand upright, and walk around, never lean on the desk, don't stand still for too long, never hide behind the desk, show all of your body to the students
2. use hand gestures economically [try to do no gestures at all if you find you've got too many gestures]
3. dramatic / abrupt silence quite powerful!
1. have interaction even in a 300 people class: sketch on the board? ask questions by names?
2. time limit --- never hurry
3. film your own lectures --- change it and make it better [may also study the gestures of other lecturers, politicians.....)
