Dear Mr. John
Greeting from the chilling spring in Beijing! I am sorry if I disturb you from your tense schedule, I believe things have gone well with Carbon Institute in San Diego, which you have made such a impressive and extraordinary efforts into. Hope this email may help to recall our pleasant cooperation last year on the Climate Change Project, which was assigned to my colleague after that. I am very sorry to bother you with my personal interests of pursuing professional education (master degree) in environment, on which any of your ideas or suggestions are of great importance to me.
Since we first met 4 years ago, I had just set off to the world to find what I really want as a global citizen. By now, my dual background in regional organization and government authorities, has gradually ingrained the international liberal governance philosophy in me, and also assured me of my career in this challenging field. The defining factor also the obvious missing point for me shall be the professional training, on which I made the tough decision to back to university, and embrace both the theoretical knowledge and academic exposures through master programs to grow as a better professional.
I plan to study in US from fall 2017, 2-year master program on environment, with the expectation of getting systematic education and interactions with inspiring academics, which would definitely help me to hold senior positions in NGOs/institutes concerning climate change or sustainable development. With your decades of profound experiences being leading expert and organization administrator, persistent engagement in international climate change process, and the prospective thinking toward sustained global development, of course, your determination and passion in environmental sector, I would be highly appreciated if by any chance I could have your ideas on some suitable universities or programs for me to apply. I am sorry that we had not been in close contact for a period of times, I hope the attached CV may do some help.
As I understand the exploration of suitable programs may commit us serious thoughts and discussions, although I would love to learn your ideas, the least thing I want is making inconvenience for you, so please feel free to response.
Thanks so much for your attention and looking forward to hear from you.
Cheers
Yours
Zhang Yang
