It went on for five minutes without stopping. And by the time the sheep had quieted down，the chance to utter【v. 说出；发出，表达；发射；使用伪钞】 any protest had passed，for the pigs had marched back into the farmhouse.

A minute or two they stood gazing at the tarred【adj. 涂了焦油的】 wall with its white lettering.
