1. Obliterate = to destroy something completely so that nothing remains 注意这个词是带程度的

2. Ho-hum = boring or ordinary

3. Pull something off 常用表达，意思是 to drive a car off a road in order to stop, or to turn into a smaller road. 但每个动词短语都有多个意思，pull something off 还可以是to succeed in doing something difficult

   sb/sth rocks, slang, 棒极了，…很好，…绝了（表示非常喜欢或赞成）

8. rid sb/sth of sth/sb = to cause someone or something to be free of an unpleasant or harmful thing or person

9. pitch a fit or throw/have a fit = to become very upset and angry in a loud and uncontrolled way

10. stay the course = to continue doing something until it is finished or until you achieve something you have planned to do

12. ineptitude = lack of skill or ability

13. incessantly = never stopping, especially in an annoying or unpleasant way

14. by/in leaps and bounds = very quickly, especially when talking about getting better
    behold = see 比较文绉绉的说法

15. Its rapids are too rapid. Rapids 急流

16. twist and turn: if a path, road, stream etc twists and turns, it has a lot of bends in it; if a person or animal twists and turns, they make twisting movements
    twist and turn 押头韵，念出来朗朗上口

17. bask in sth = to take pleasure from something that makes you feel good
