 Watch dog Timer

In order to detect the failure of Exasmoc controller or Exasmoc station, a watchdog timer function is provided. Exasmoc controller periodically sets a watchdog timer flag to the control station of DCS. The control station resets the flag every time when it is set. If Exasmoc controller cannot set this flag within a fixed interval then the control station recognizes the Exasmoc has failed, and the base controller (local loop) in control station will be switched from REMOTE to LOCAL mode.
This function is effective in all type of Yokogawa DCS mentioned in this manual. It might be also supported for other vendor DCS, provided it could handle this flag.

 User Defined Calculation (R3.06)

Apart from the Exasmoc controller standard function, Exasmoc Kernel collect input data using OPC interface, execute the define calculation and output the result.
Definition of Input tag, output tag and the calculation logic definition are done using PCTP: SMOCPro function. It is also possible to send the calculation result to process output or other DCS tags.

 看门狗计时器

为了检测Exasmoc控制器和Exasmoc站的故障,系统提供了看门狗计时器功能。Exasmoc控制器定期向DCS的控制站写入看门狗计时器标签。在写入时,控制站中该标签复位。如果在固定的时间间隔内Exasmoc控制器无法写入此标签,则控制台会识别出Exasmoc断线,控制台中的基础控制器(本地回路)将从REMOTE切换到LOCAL模式。
此功能在本手册中提到的所有类型的横河电机DCS中均有效。其他供应商DCS也可能支持,只要它可以处理此标签。

 用户定义的计算(R3.06)

除了Exasmoc控制器标准功能外,Exasmoc Kernel采用OPC接口采集输入数据,执行定义计算并输出结果。
使用PCTP:SMOCPro功能来完成输入位号,输出位号和计算逻辑的定义。也可以将计算结果发送到过程输出或其他DCS位号。

Preface

This document covers the operation aspects of Exasmoc online multivariable, model predictive and optimizing controller software integrated with the user’s DCS. The operational instructions are meant only for operating Exasmoc for the process plants. It is assumed that the user’s DCS and process plant is in operation. It is also assumed that Exasmoc application is running along with the operation displays.

Intended Readership

This manual is intended for use by plant operator and process engineer who are actually operating the plant and responsible to implement Exasmoc an online multivariable, model predictive and optimizing controller for their process. A good knowledge and experience of operating plant through DCS is essential. A basic knowledge of Advanced Process Control and Windows based system is also required.
