Professor is so boring, so I am here to summary the lecture I watched days ago, which I plan to finish.
The lecture is about love and relationship and represented by Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche. It is hard for me to remember his name, even in Chinese, I have to check his name on the Internet every time. However, I love his thoughts. Years ago, I saw one of his interviews and his cognitions really impressed me. I think he has innovative notions which keep people awake, lead people to a better life, and solving problems from life.
Following is his ideas in the lecture:
1. Love in Buddhism is limitless love. Love is the first thing of four limitless thoughts, is true happiness, has no personal or gender differences.
2. The blood of love is insecurity. The big symbol of insecurity is the ring.
3. Love and relationship depend on cause and condition. Actually, we are so dependent on cause and condition. We are not able to control things happened in our life. We think we are, but we cannot.
4. Everything in relationship is sharing. However, in Buddhism, there is no share. "What you see, I never see." Books of Buddhism always start with "Thus have I heard...", which determine I am not able to see exactly what you see.
5. "The moment we think, it is confusion. The moment we say something, it is contradiction", one great Nyingmapa master called Jigme Lingpa said. There is no communication exist. Only successful miscommunication and unsuccessful communication exist.
6. In relationship, we have burden of needing be nice. We need to consider for lovers, and do nice things satisfied their expect and hope. Also, this burden kills relationship. When not wanting being nice anymore, that is the end of relationship.
7. In relationship, we should give libration, freedom, space to each other.
8. The old generations value marriage. But in these days, we want and seek relationship, also, we alienate ourselves so much!
9. Let life flow. Do not be afraid when love is coming. But remember, do not put expect and hope in relationship.
10. Treat your life as a hotel. People check in, people check out. Everything is temporary.
11. All is impermanent. It is the most critical theme in Buddhism.
Finally, the lecture affirmed my perfect condition of being single, as long as being happy. The old marriage notion should be abandoned. Younger generations are able to create a new world which is suitable to them, which makes them happy, which match their value.
