We've had visitors today. I made a conference call from my home in the morning. Argued with a colleague for almost two hours. And then went to the beachfront to meet an old friend from our college days in China and his Mom, who lives here in the U.S.

The beach was nice and quieter since it was a Tuesday. There were probably only out of town tourists enjoying the beautiful weather and warm water. We took our guests to a small historical restaurant located right in front of the Atlantic Ocean called "Casablanca". The restaurant building is one of the oldest buildings in the city that was built in the 1920s'. Even after a recent renovation, they restored the roof tiles and interior with the materials the same style in that era.

We had a long conversation while the blue ocean view and excellent food with our friends since we have met for more than 30 years. But what impressed us most was his Mom. She's 86 years old. She came to the U.S. almost 30 years ago.

As a retired university professor, she learned English by going to night schools, passed the driver's license exam, got remarried. Although lives alone right now (her husband passed away a few years ago), she was busy with her own activities every day such as dancing classes, swimming, volunteer work, bridge games with friends, etc. She's still driving by herself and fully independent.

And the most shocking thing to me was, she even works as a fashion model once in a while at her age. For her privacy, I can't show her picture here. Otherwise, I'm sure you would be shocked to see how young she looks in her pictures.

We can't even think that we are old in front of her since she's in our parents' age. I think she's our role model whom we can learn a lot from.
