2021年7月31日，读完Seven Signs of Life: Stories from an Intensive Care Doctor，作者Aoife Abbey, ISBN 9781784708474。通常，生命的七种迹象指的是：moving, respiration, sensitivity, growth, reproduction, excretion and nutrition；但是，来自爱尔兰的重症监护室医生Aoife Abbey“偷换了”概念，将七种迹象重新定义为她在重症监护室中体验过的七种情感：恐惧，悲伤，快乐，分心，愤怒，厌恶，希望。也许，在重症监护室这种环境下，这些情感的体验尤其深刻吧。每个情感前都有题记，我最喜欢的是Hope之前的那一个：
