Good morning folks! It's a new week. We are all being brought back to the daily grinding life again. But no matter what we do, keeping stress out our way is very important.

A research by a group researchers led by sociologist Nicholas Christakis of Yale University suggested that human emotions are also contagious like other diseases. It can happen during our most basic exchanges, say on your commute to work. "If someone smiles at you, you smile back at them," he said. "That's a very fleeting contagion of emotion from one person to another."

Their study of 5,000 local people through out a time period of over 32 years with regular survey among these people. The background information of the research also included the information about the relationships between these study objects. I was wondering how in the world could they pull out a task this big and so long? It must have been a very difficult study

The research showed that when one person was happier, then other people with closer relationship will tend to immediately happier. And there were ripple effects afterwards. When some of the people in the studied group became angry or depressed, the emotions would also affected people closer to them. Emotions can spread through social networks almost like the flu or a cold.

I think these results just showed something that we've already known as common sense in our life. “送人玫瑰,手有余香”. Be kind to others in life, stay away from people with negative emotions, and you will most likely live in a kindly environment.
