桑条无叶土生烟，箫管迎龙水庙前。
朱门几处看歌舞，犹恐春阴咽管弦。

好久没有下雨了，桑树枝上都光光的长不出叶子，地上干得尘土飞扬，像在冒烟一样。龙王庙前为天旱所苦的人们，箫管齐鸣地祈求普降甘霖，润泽万物，祈求给人间一个风调雨顺的好年景。

而富贵人家却依旧家家锦衣玉食，处处歌舞升平，还担心阴雨的春天会使乐器受潮，发不出清亮悦耳的声音。

这是一首悯农诗，写观看春日祈雨的感慨，通过对久旱无雨时两种不同生活的描绘，反映了作者对豪门荒yin生活的无比愤慨，以及对农民苦难生活的深切同情，全诗语言含蓄，风格委婉。

No leaves sprout from mulberry trees on drought-scorched earth.

Flutes and pipes are played to evoke the Rain God's mirth.
