    Words and phrases

    1.cash ˈin (on sth):( disapproving) to gain an advantage for yourself from a situation, especially in a way that other people think is wrong or immoral 从中牟利;捞到好处

    ◆ The film studio is being accused of cashing in on the singer's death. 那家电影制片厂被指责利用这位歌手的死来赚钱。

    2.“编造”

      1> phoney  adj ( pho·nier , pho·ni·est ) ( informal, disapproving) not real or true; false, and trying to trick people 假的;冒充的;欺骗的

       = fake

      2> fabricate  sth :to invent false information in order to trick people 编造;捏造 

        = make up

        ◆ The evidence was totally fabricated. 这个证据纯属伪造。

    3.modus operandi  NOUN [singular ] ( from Latin) ( formal) ( abbr.MO ) a particular method of working 工作方法

    4.seasoned : [usually before noun ] (of a person 人 ) having a lot of experience of a particular activity 富有经验的;老于此道的

    ◆ a seasoned campaigner/performer/traveller, etc. 经验丰富的社会运动家、表演者、旅行家等

    5.often-staged crimes 常发生的犯罪
