【原文】季康子问：“使民敬、忠以劝，如之何？”子曰：“临之以庄，则敬；孝慈，则忠；举善而教不能，则劝。”
【英译文】Chi K'ang asked how to cause the people to reverence their ruler, to be faithful to him, and to go on to nerve themselves to virtue. The Master said, "Let him preside over them with gravity;-then they will reverence him. Let him be final and kind to all;-then they will be faithful to him. Let him advance the good and teach the incompetent;-then they will eagerly seek to be virtuous."
【白话文】季康子问道：“要使老百姓对当政的人尊敬、尽忠而努力干活，该怎样去做呢？”孔子说：“你用庄重的态度对待老百姓，他们就会尊敬你；你对父母孝顺、对子弟慈祥，百姓就会尽忠于你；你选用善良的人，又教育能力差的人，百姓就会互相勉励，加倍努力了。”
【个人感悟】一个团队是否能做好，孔子给了三条建议，就是尊重、榜样、善任。
