Piebald of Blooming Jade was the emperor's steed,
Many painters have pictured it, but none succeed.
When it was led before the flight of steps one day,
It outshone in the palace the dazzling array.
General Cao was ordered to paint it on the scroll,
As swift as wind, he tried to do with heart and soul.
When a dragon appears in the celestial sphere,
How dare a snake or serpent boast to be his peer!
