小满（诗二首）
Lesser Fullness of Grain (Two Poems)
1.
小满天逐热，
It’s getting hotter as Lesser Fullness comes
温风沐麦圆。
Wheat grains grow plump in the warm wind
园中桑树壮，
Mulberry trees flourish in the garden
棚里菜瓜甜。
Cucumbers are sweet on the trellis
雨下雷声震，
It thunders loudly with the rain falling
莺歌情语传。
Orioles sing love songs sweetly
旱灾能缓解，
Drought can be alleviated, if any
百姓盼丰年。
Civilians look forward to a good harvest
2.
入夏迎来小满，
Lesser Fullness arrives in early summer
林中小鸟欣欢。
Birds sing jubilantly in the forest
池莲青翠柳含烟。
Green lotuses grow in the pond, willows fluttering
垅间麦穗饱，
Wheat ears are almost full in the fields
院里石榴妍。
Pomegranate flowers bright in the courtyard
气温渐升雷雨降，
It rains and thunders with the temperature rising
水塘蛙叫声喧。
Frogs croak noisily in the pond
中耕除草在农田，
Inter-tilling and weeding in the field
勤劳流热汗，
We work hard and sweat all day
努力获丰年。
