《Our Earth》was written by Anne Rockwell. And it was illustrated by her, too. Her gentle, rhythmic text is a pleasing introduction to basic earth science concepts. Come along on a breathtaking adventure to explore the geography of our home, planet Earth. 《Our Earth》is a voyager book. Look at the cover of this book. A boy sleeps on the earth. From his smiling, we know that he loves our earth.

Turn to the next page, we can see a squirrel, a bird, a fish and a butterfly. Where do they live? Ah, they live on the earth as well.

So our earth is where we live. It is a big, round globe. It has a frozen North Pole at the top and icy cold South Pole at the bottom. Our earth was shaped by water, fire, ice and living thing. It is always changing——much too slowly for us to see.

Once our earth was covered with warm water, some dinosaurs lived in its warm and ferny swamps. Then our earth turned cold.

Then the book continued to talk about the glaciers, continents, islands, volcanoes, water flows, the land, the forests, deserts, caves, canyons, mountains.......

Amazing, sure, it’s really surprising. Our big, round earth is very beautiful, it is my home and yours. We should love our home.
