DATA ENGINEER

Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports

Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality

Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems

Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

Filter and clean data by reviewing reports, and performance indicators to locate and correct problems

Work with management to prioritize business and information needs

Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or related field or relevant experience

Experience with Banking/Finance is an asset

Programming skills in Python, Scala, R, and /or Java. Experience with Spark is preferred

Comfortable working in database environments. Experience with PostgreSQL, HDFS/Hive, MinIO an asset

Experience with visualization tools an asset: Power BI/Tableau

Excel, Access, SQL, Tableau, or SAS

Exposure to Kubernetes, Airflow, Jenkins is an asset

High performance, pragmatic, detail-oriented

Eligible to work in Canada

Strong experience using tools for data processing and analytics

Have built insightful data-driven applications
