Feng Yu inkstone is producted by Feng Yu Township, Eryuan country. It's a national handicraft and also a collection of World Expo. It's one of the four famous inkstone.

Feng Yu inkstone has been in production since the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the begining of Ming Dynasty. It has been over 400 years ago. The inkstone has the character of easy ink going, water retention, non-rot ink and smooth burnish ink. It's not easy for made it. One of the inkstone, after 12 processes can be completed. Although the inkstone is small, it has profound skills.

Maybe you can guess that if somewhere have many good writing tools, there will be many literatis. Yes, you are right. In the qing dynasty, our town produced four Jinshi and eleven Juren. In modern times, there are some well-know literatis and poets. Some people joke that this is the unique culture because Feng Yu people is stained with Phoenix's feather.
