Many people say that a person's self-control is limited, don't try to challenge it by approaching temptation, or you will fail.
That's definitely true, I don't doubt it. But I think it can be strengthened through daily practice.
According to my schedule, I should go to the gym today, but I didn't feel very well right before the gym time, maybe I didn't sleep well last night, I was sleepy all day, and I didn't want to exercise today. There were many thoughts to do other things than physical exercise. Even I had arrived at the gym and sat on the couches, my mind was still thinking of others.
After half an hour of struggle, I was on the treadmill, and finally I had run for 70 minutes, 7.6km distance as usual.
As my this experience, I think that self-control will be increased a little bit after each successful challenge. But does it decrease a little bit after each failure? I think it does.
