A piece of news you heard

I am going to share with you a piece of news that I heard recently, which Saudi Arabia announced that it would allow women to drive. This Kingdom had long banned female drivers, because it would help stop women from committing adultery. Even though women can drive, they still need a male guardian's permission to travel. I thought a lot after reading this news. My mother learnt to drive about 8 years ago, and now she is the only one among her female siblings who drives. When she told her mother that she wanted to learn how to drive a car, her mother told her that there is no point that a women drives a car as if her husband could drive. After my mother got her driving license, her mother was always questioning her driving skill. I remember my mother suggested that she would drive my grandma to hopspital, but my grandma didn't allow her, because she assumed that my mother would not drive safely. I think in China, there is no law that bans women from driving, but people's stereotype bans women from driving.
