一个女士在给她的医生打电话，“你赶紧过来”她喊道，“我10岁的儿子，刚刚把我的钢笔给吞下去了，”

“我尽可能快地过去，”医生说，“但是我的办公室，现在还有几个病人。大概三四个小时，你才能看到我。”

“三到四个小时！”女士喊道，“那我这时候能做什么呢？”

“抱歉,女士，”医生说，“我恐怕你只能用铅笔了。”

A lady got her doctor on the telephone.

“Come quick, ”she cried. “My ten-year-old boy just swallowed my fountain pen.”

“I will come over as soon as possible,” said the doctor, “But there are several patients in my office now and you may not see me for three or four hours.”

“Three or four hours !”cried the lady. “What will I do in the meantime?”

“Sorry, madam,” said the doctor. “ I’m afraid you will have to use a pencil.”
