I have to admit that those difficult tasks described in this book remind me of my past hellish military training. But fortunately, this book is not all about the creepy “circus” and dreadful “cookie”. There are still some great sentences at the end of each chapter.
“sometimes the simple act of making your bed can give you the lift you need to start your day and provide you the satisfaction to end it right”
This sentence reminds me of what my mom told me before. As a lazy bone, I was tired of making my bed everyday since it seemed a redundant and mandated custom. While my mom believed that making the bed can provide a good mood for a person, encouraging him to start a new day with full energy. Although trivial, making bed can show a person’s attitude towards life.
“I realized that the past failures had strengthened me, taught me that no one is immune from mistakes”
Retrospecting my past memories, I did make lots of mistakes and leave numerous regrets. I used to be caught in low points and not sober any more. But I believe these ups and downs will raise present me, endowing me the courage to march towards the unkown.
