A Long Day
Finally--time to rest
after a long work day.
It’s been a fruitful day, though.
Exhaustion,
fulfillment,
and all other feelings
melt away
as I throw myself into
the soft sofa
covered with softer blanket
Don’t offer me the world
for my sofa
at this moment.
No deal.
Not when my body
and my thoughts
are melting away
into the sofa
with which I cannot part
