As a consequence of rapid social development, the role of job dress seems to have declined significantly. More and more modern internet company allow people to dress what they like and focus more on their work quality. From my perspective, although some particular job still needs to take care of unified dress, most of them should concern quality instead of clothing.
To start with, it is commonly believed that the company which can produce excellent product rather than have a beautiful appearance are more likely to win the market, which means only items with high quality will win customers and clients' favor. As a result, it brings the enterprise more profits and more competitive power. For example, employees in Tecent can wear slippers in workplace, but the App, wechat, they develop has a extremely high quality which in the end help employers have a monopoly over the social area. Therefore, spending more time improving the quality at work is conducive to employers.
In addition, without the strict limit of what employees are supposed to wear, the work efficiency and job satisfaction tend to be improved. This means the staff can dress in a more comfortable way, which is beneficial not only to their physical feeling but also to having a better mood. For instance, if a software engineer is required to wear formal dress, he or she will have to spend more time on making up and feel less comfortable to write code. Therefore, the code they contribute is prone to have bugs, which negatively impact the product quality and reputation of company.
Admittedly, there exist some particular job which still entails wear a specific dress in order to show the identity. For example, policemen and doctors are the kind of job having demands in clothing. If a doctor dressed in a normal way, patients would cannot help suspecting whether they have enough authority to make a treatment.
In conclusion, as long as the attribute of job doesn't entail showing clients the identity, concerns about the dress instead of work quality do more harm than good for employers.

As a consequence of rapid social development, the role of dress code in the workplace seems to have declined significantly. More and more modern internet companies allow people to dress whatever they like. From my perspective, although some particular jobs still needs to care about unified dress, in most cases, the working outcomes instead of dressing should be given more proprieties.
To start with, it is commonly believed that the company which can produce excellent product rather than maintain perfect employees image is more likely to win the market, which means that whatever employees wear doesn't matter as long as they are qualified to the occupation and make profits for the enterprises. For example, employees in Tencent can wear slippers in workplace, but the App, WeChat, they develop has extremely high quality which in the end help employers have a monopoly over the social area. Therefore, spending more time improving the quality at work is conducive to employers.
In addition, without the strict requirements of what employees are supposed to wear, the work efficiency and job satisfaction tend to be improved. This means the staff can dress in a more comfortable way physically, which helps them attach more attention to their work content. For instance, if a software engineer is required to wear formal dress, he or she will have to spend more time on making up and feel less comfortable to write code. For instance, the task of a software engineer is to write the accurate code, so there is no need for them to wear suits, which are not a comfortable choice for the majority of people.
Admittedly, there exist some certain jobs which still require to wear a specific dress in order to show the identity. For example, policemen and doctors are professions with specific demands in clothing. For example, if a doctor dressed in a normal way, patients would cannot help suspecting whether they have enough authority to make a treatment; and lawyers are supposed to wear formally to give/leave their clients the impression of reliability and professionalism.
In conclusion, I think whether to emphasize on the specific requirement of dressing code counts on the attribute of jobs. The uniforms of certain jobs, like police and doctor, help to show their identity and professionalism, while for most employees, the dressing could give the way to working quality.
