M y Car
拿到一本书，我们最先关注的肯定是作者。My Car的作者Byron Barton（拜伦.巴顿）是美国最受欢迎的童书作家之一，多次获得美国图书馆学会图书奖（ALA Notable Book Awards）。他的交通工具系列绘本被美国图书馆协会推荐。翻阅他的书可以看到各式粗线条勾勒，配以大块纯色构图，内容简单有趣，非常吸引孩子们的目光，也有助于孩子们的视觉发展。绘本内容则是涵盖了小汽车、巴士、火车、自行车、机场、船等交通工具，以及建筑机械，此外还有农场动物系列。

I am Sam.
这一句是Sam在作介绍呢:我是Sam, 也可以说My name is Sam.
This is my car.
这是我的汽车。this is 一般用在介绍人物或者物品以及打电话的时候使用：
介绍物品如上文的This is my car.
介绍人物: Tom, this is Jack.
电话中给对方介绍自己：Hello, this is Tom.
在介绍物品的时候，与this对应的是that，他们的复数形式为these/those。
举例如下：
This is my pen. These are my pens.
That is my book. Those are my books.
这两个指示代词的区别在于所指的物品距离自己较近（this/these）还是较远（that/those）。
I love my car.
我爱我的小汽车。
love表示喜欢，意义相近的词为like。只不过在情感上love会更强烈些。比如，I love music.热爱音乐，如果换成I like music.所表达意思就是说比较喜欢，对音乐不排斥，明显没有love释放的情感浓烈。大家最长听到的表白:I love you.在国外文化中，love常用来表达亲人，爱人和亲密朋友之间的感情。
I keep my car clean.
我会让小汽车保持干净。
这里的keep作为系动词（+名词）+形容词，意思是保持...处于某种状态。比如:
The noise kept him awake.噪音使他一直醒着。此处的kept是keep的过去时态。
My car needs oil and a full tank of gasoline.
我的汽车需要机油和一整箱的汽油。
我们要学习下tank这个单词，大家都知道是坦克。但这里是他的另外一个意思，指盛放液体或气体的罐; 箱; 槽。
如oil tank油箱/water tank水箱。
a full tank of 一整箱的，full是形容词表示满的，修饰tank。可以和 a cup of tea相比较来记忆。
My car has many parts: body, steering wheel, engine, wheel, frame, wheel.
我的汽车有很多部件：车身，方向盘，引擎/发动机，车轮，车架，车轮。
注意这里的part加s=parts，专门指汽车部件（auto parts）。介绍的这些基本部件都要记住哦。
My car has lights to see at night and windshield wipers to see in the rain.
车灯让我在夜晚可以看见路；雨刮器让我在雨天能看见路。
这句学到了另外两个汽车部件：light 车灯，windshield wipers 雨刮器。注意常规介词的搭配: at night/in the rain,
When I drive, I drive carefully.
当我开车的时候，我小心驾驶。
when经常做副词引导特殊疑问句，比如 When do you come here to see me?你什么时候来看我？
另外还经常做连词，表示“当...的时候”，这句就是连词的用法。
carefully是副词，表示小心地，比如watch carefully仔细看
I obey the laws.
我遵守交通规则。
学会遵守法律的表达：obey the laws；对应的违反法律，我们可以说break the laws.
I stop for pedestrians.
我停下来等行人通过。
stop for 这个搭配表示等候、停下等。He let me stop for him in front of the shop.他让我在商店前面等他。
I read the signs.
我辨认交通标识。
sign作名词的时候指各种标识符号，复数形式为signs.如交通标识: traffic signs，安全警示标识safety signs。
sign也常常用做动词，表示签字签署：Sign your name here, please.请在这里签上名字。
I drive my car to many places.
我开车去很多的地方
I drive my car to work.
我开车去上班。
drive to 指开车去某地。
比如I drive the children to school. 我开车送孩子们上学。
He drove me to the airport.他开车送我到机场。
But when I work, I drive my bus.
但是当我工作的时候，我开我的公共汽车。这里就揭晓了，Sam的工作是bus driver。drive经常的搭配是drive a car/truck/bus等，但是也可以作为名词使用，一般表示开车旅行，车程，或者车道。
