2020政府工作报告节选译文解析之一

背景：近期会专门做几期2020政府工作报告原创译文评析，对政府公文重点表达和句式进行深入解析，欢迎大家关注~

原文：

经济结构和区域布局继续优化。社会消费品零售总额超过40万亿元，消费持续发挥主要拉动作用。先进制造业、现代服务业较快增长。粮食产量1.33万亿斤。常住人口城镇化率首次超过60%，重大区域战略深入实施。

Economic structure and regional distribution are further improved. With the retail sales of socialconsumption goods surpassing 40 trillion yuan, consumption continues to play a major booster in economy growth. Advanced manufacturing and modern service sector register faster growth. Foodproduction totaled 1.33 trillion jin. The number of people living in towns and cities accounted for 60% in the total population of permanent residency for the first time. Major regional-level strategies were further carried out.

The economic structure continued to improve, and the development priorities of regions are better aligned. Total retail sales of consumer goods exceeded 40 trillion yuan, and consumption continued to serve as the main engine driving growth. Advanced manufacturing and modern services registered rapid growth. Grain output reached 665 million metric tons. For the first time, permanent urban residents exceeded 60 percent of the population; progress was made in implementing major development strategies for regions.

译文评析：

1. 区域布局继续优化。“区域布局”不能直译为regional distribution.这里的布局是指各个区域发展的优先顺序。应该把隐含的这层意思表达出来，the development priorities of regions are better aligned。

Align 表示to organize or change something so that it has the right relationship to something else使某事物与另外一事物保持一致，一般接 to be aligned with.

区域布局优化，也可以理解为发展顺序的优化，顺着这个思路，可以翻译为the development sequence of regions continued to be optimized，这样感觉更好理解。

2. 社会消费品零售总额，这里虽然原文没有直说总销售额，但是sales一定要翻译出来。

3.发挥拉动作用，起拉动作用，除了官方给出的serve as 句型，还可以借用词组play a driver in economic growth。Engine表示社会变革的动力。

类似词语还有driver, stimulus, booster,都是表述推动某事物的动力。

4. “深入实施”不能停留在表面意思，不能直译。这里表示“区域战略取得了一些进步”，故翻译为 progress was made in implementing...

5. Progress 注意是不可数名词。取得进步 make progress, 或achieve progress。

根据朗文词典的例句，后面的介词可以加towards, in或者on.

6.粮食产量grain output。Grain 谷物，粮食，包括玉米，小麦，大米等庄稼作物crop。不能翻译为food。粮食收成grain harvest。产量可以用output 或者production.

Output:an amount of something produced by a person, machine, factory, country, etc.常跟比较宏观的产业搭配，比如manufacturing/agricultural output

7. 1市斤=1斤=0.5公斤=0.5千克。公吨即中国普遍采用的“吨”。其英文名称为tonne或metric ton。1 metric ton =1000 kg.

8. Register的特殊含义，表示仪器上的度数显示为，记录为。Y金额thermometer registered 30°。温度计显示30度。

类似词语post, 表示发布、公布，宣布，一般较正式，比如The company have posted a 10% increase in sales.公司销售额增长了10%。
