绘本讲师训练营【17期】11/21阅读原创《my bike》

《my bike》illustrated by Byron Barton. The pictures are bright and beautiful. The colors are pure red, green, blue, yellow and so on. Children would be attracted by the pictures easily.

I bought this book on storybridge website, and it was on sale, I was really happy when I received it. Then I could hardly wait to read for Simon immediately. Before reading, I asked Simon to introduce his small bike.

“Who’s bike is it?” I asked.

“My bike.” Simon said.

“What color is it?”

“ it is orange, black and blue.”

Then I started to read the book.

“I am Simon. This is my bike.” I said. Simon was happy to hear that. “ this is Simon’s bike.” I pointed to his bike. “ now let’s see what we have on the bike?”

We read the words first, then i point at the handbars and I asked Simon, “ what is it?” He could not say it correctly, I taught him the phonetic patiently. Then we found out the difference. we didn’t have some parts of the bike, like pedals, fenders, chain, light and  bell. But Simon was delighted to tell me, “ mummy, it is the seat. It is the wheel.”

And I told him that helmet is for protecting our head. Then Tom rode his bike to work. Simon wanted to ride the bike as well. I put some toy trucks and buses and cars on the floor. So that he could understand what “pass” means. He rode the bike fast. We had many fun with it. After the activity, we settled down and read each page together.
