Parents vs Teacher In Education

Some people think that parents have the greatest influence on their child’s academic development, while others think that a child’s teacher has more influence. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

Education is fundamental to the advancement of a nation, a community, as well as each individual, it is a crucial part of all man-kind. Many think that parents play an important role in children's growth, which greatly influences their academic development, whereas others believe that teachers have more impact. In my opinion, each side contributes to children's studies to a large extent, i.e. they are equally important.

To commence with, kids learn a lot of things from their parents, which are often said to be the first teachers for the kids. Take, for example, a newborn baby, curious about everything, learns to understand this world by their guardian, such as how to talk, how to eat, how to walk, how to react, etc... In other words, home and parents are the very initial educational institution for a child. The living environment and parents' characteristics have a huge impact on kids, which they often mimic or learn from. To illustrate, if children's parents create an education-friendly condition and spend time with them, kids will surely improve their skills and acquire good grades in the future. In contrast, if parents themselves pay very little attention to education, their kids might likely get similar influences.

On the other hand, teachers are equally important in the academic development of students. Teachers support children's study substantially, they introduce a wonderful world of academics which is full of opportunities and curiosities. For instance, students are often overwhelmed by many information at school and don't know how to choose the right way, teachers will help them to distinguish and find their goal. To some extent, teachers are more like role models for students, they guide kids toward the correct way.

To sum up, both parents and teachers have a big impact on children's study, which they may join together as a successful combination to help children in studies and achieve dreams.
