Machines combined with computer programs arefrequently applied in environments unsuitable for humans to work in for a longtime. Theoretically, Artificial Intelligence stimulates a mind identical to ahuman’s. Emotion, as a byproduct for a free and capable mind, would also appearin AI. Thus, machines would also be given emotions as these computer programs arebeing applied to them. They feel fear, envy, anger as well as any normal human.
Now, we face a problem—moral. Machines features extremely high working efficiency which humans lack, but does it comfort any of us to have a mind as lively as ours to be working in environments that would torment a normal man? Should empathy be applied to machines (initially freely of emotions), and their state of mind being taken are of? Obviously this would cause discomfort in certain individuals who refer to themselves as human activists, although some of them are hypocrites, most of them would oppose the use of these machines and cause stirrings. This is the time for us to reconsider our original motive for application of AI on machines. Machines with humanoid mind would naturally be able to make quick decisions in critical moments that normal machines are incapable of. Even better, they need no rest except for the occasional energy recharge. There is amore troubling point of view--something that is identical to human in mind, doing more and better work than human, but doesn’t enjoy anything normal humans can enjoy. Doesn’t it trouble your conscience for one moment? Again, hypocrites judging from high moral grounds, or human activists make their points and cause more trouble which results in boycott, strike(if machines are capable of striking). Incidents like these defeat the original purpose for these applications.
These problems will surface until overall balance between Artificial Intelligence and its application is sought.
