CC1: The origin of Mark

CC1: Ice Breaker

Good morning, everyone. My name is Mark. I come from Chaoyang, LiaoNing province. I am graduated from Shenyang University of Technology. My major is software engineering. So, everyone, if your computer has any problems, you can find me and I will try my best to help you solve them for free. Maybe someone doubts that didn’t your previous name be Alan? Why Mark now?

Because every name has its own story. Today I’m gonna share three stories about my name.

The first story is about lost kids. When I was born with red birthmark, it is destined that the birthmark which is on my chin will company with myself all my life. I reminded my mom’s humorous words when I watch the movie which name is Dearest, directed by ChenKexin. My mom said that “A lot of parents extremely worried about their children lost, but I don’t have any worries. Because my son has a red birthmark. It’s very easy to identify and search.” When I was a kid, I reminded these sentences, I think my red birthmark will bring the lucky to me and I’m very happy at that time.

My second story is about my nickname. When I read in my primary school, my classmates called me “red chin”, of course my nickname. My red birthmark is origin of my nickname. To be honest, I don’t like my nickname. That made me depressed for a while. One day, my mom noticed me different and ask me, “What’s the matter with you?”.I said, “Mom, my classmates call my ‘red chin’, I feel very bad. How do I deal with it?” Mom replied, “You are marked. And there are no two identical leaves in the world, and this is where you are different from them. You should neglect something inessential and care the vital things.”. After mom’s enlightenment, I got better. You know that your mom always notices that you are different, and asks you why, finally gives you some ways to solve your problems.

My third story is about writing in my primary school. One day, my Chinese teacher gave us a task to describe someone by writing an article in my class. And anyone can guess his/her name. It seems that I have more chances to hear my name because of my red birthmark. But I hear once or twice. Probably my classmates thought that describing me is not a challenging thing. And I think it very normal. My red birthmark brings me a lot. On the one hand, I am an easily found person. On the other hand, something has nothing to do with me.

All of my stories are about my red birthmark, that is why I change my English name. That is the origin of Mark.
