I strove with none, for none was worth my strife.

Nature I loved and, next to Nature, Art:

I warm'd both hands before the fire of life;

It sinks, and I am ready to depart.

我不与人相争，因为没有人值得我去争斗，

我喜欢自然，然后就是艺术，

生命之火曾温暖我的双手，

当它熄灭了，那我也就应该上路了。

又曰:

我与世无争，故无需为争，

我爱自然，然后艺术，

生命之火曾温暖我的双手，

当它熄灭了，那我就

驾鹤（归西去，天外）云中游。
