Minister Cheng Deming's Openging Adress at the 6th Chine-ASEAN Expo
东盟：东南亚国家联盟（Association of Southeast Asian Nations），简称东盟（ASEAN）。成员国有马来西亚、印度尼西亚、泰国、菲律宾、新加坡、文莱、越南、老挝、缅甸和柬埔寨。其前身是马来亚（现马来西亚）、菲律宾和泰国于1961年7月31日在曼谷成立的东南亚联盟。
尊敬的李克强副总理，
女士们、先生们：
Your Excellency Vice Premier Li Keqiang,
Ladies and gentlemen,
今天，我们相聚在美丽的南宁，共迎博览盛会，共享合作成果，共展美好未来。
Today, we are gathered in the beautiful city of Naning to welcome a magnificent expositionm, to enjoy the fruits of our partnerships and envision a promising common future.
我谨代表中国商务部，向支持和参与第六届中国-东盟博览会的各国新老朋友表示热烈欢迎和衷心感谢！
On behalf of the Ministry of Commerce of China, I would like to extend a warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to the many old and new friends who have been supporting and participating in the 6th China-ASEAN Expo.
中国与东盟是好朋友、好邻居、好伙伴。
China and the ASEAN are good friends, good neighbors and good partners.
近年来，双方经贸关系不断取得新的发展，我们共同携手，搭建了中国-东盟博览会平台，把投资贸易便利化的成果带给了本区域各国企业和人民，推动了中国-东盟自由贸易区的建设。
Recent years have seen our bilateral economic and trade ties breaking successive new grounds. We have worked together to build this platform of the China-ASEAN Expo, bringing benefits of investment an trade facilitation to the enterprises and people of this region and accelerating construction of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.
我们高兴地看到，中国-东盟自由贸易区将于明年初如期建成。
We shall be very happy to see the launching of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area as scheduled in the beginning of next year.
这个惠及19亿人口的世界最大自贸区之一建成后，将把中国-东盟之间的伙伴关系提升到更高的水平。
This FTA, as one of the largest of its kind in the world and benefiting 1.9 billion people, will push the China-ASEAN partnership to new heights.
本届中国-东盟博览会以此为契机，内容更加务实，合作更加深入，交流更加广泛，必将为各方携手应对国际金融危机、推进贸易投资便利化、共克时艰、互利共赢做出更大的贡献！
This year's Expo, taking advantage of this strategic timing, will be more pragmatic in contents, more in-depth in cooperation, and more wide-ranging in communication. It will surely contribute to the efforts of all parties to deal with the international financial crisis. promote investment and trade facilitation, tide over current difficulties and achieve mutual win-wins.
