In the afternoon, I attended a small-scale conference held at the Future Center at Lenovo Building in Shanghai. For the first time, I experienced the Metaverse firsthand.

A magical thing about this is that someone can appear at different locations simultaneously. This somebody can even show up in the form of an avatar. For example, an ugly man can appear as a beautiful woman as long as the audience prefers the electronic image. A beautiful woman avatar is an electronic deputy designed by engineers. Certainly, the more beautiful and authentic an avatar looks, the more expensive it is in cost.
In a metaverse classroom, experiments, plants and animals in nature can be viewed by students with extreme clarity and from any angle they choose as if everything is taking place right in front of their eyes. From one forest, people can see a tree, a leaf, and the cells and organisms making up the leaf. While examining a lion, we can observe how it moves, sleeps, hunts and even how the lion is dissected so that we understand what a lion is made up of inside as if it is right in front of us
With the help of technology, people can experience the whole world virtually and vividly without leaving home. If the metaverse is widely applied in everyday life, then human development would enter a brand-new era. The whole world could be learned and connected without people going outside. Most things can take place and be executed through the metaverse, including education.
In a world dominated by the metaverse, physical contact between people is bound to be less and less. There is no need to worry about appearance because everybody can have an avatar, even different avatars for different purposes.
Will tomorrow be a better world than today? I am not sure. All we can grasp is the present. Keep learning and be as open-minded as possible. Whatever happens in the future is beyond our control. So make good use of the moment and enjoy the present. This is the only thing we can do for now.
