Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits, and their names were: Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail, and Peter.

once upon a time: 用于儿童故事的开头，译为“很久以前”

Flopy: 弗洛普西

Mopsy: 莫普西

Cotton-tail: 棉尾

They lived with their Mother in a sand-bank, underneath the root of a very big fir tree.

sand-bank: 沙滩，沙丘

fir tree: 冷杉

underneath:在...下面

underneath与under的区别：

两者都是指在...下，但侧重不同不同，under用来表示最平常的方位上面的“下”，例如：under the bed在床下，underneath则更加侧重“覆盖”这种有外力存在的情况，例如： I'll leave the key underneath the mat.我会把要是放在垫子下面。

'Now my dears,' said old Mrs. Rabbit one morning, 'you may go into the fields or down the lane, but don't go into Mr. McGregor's garden: your Father had an accident there; he was put in a pie by Mrs.McGregor.'

field: a large open space 领域，牧场，旷野

lane: a narrow route or path 车道，小巷，胡同

爸爸发生了意外，被放在馅饼里了，这个也太好笑了哈哈哈哈哈哈

run along: 离开

get into mischief: 调皮捣蛋
