both, either, neither的用法

01 Both

both表示“（两者）都”，可以代指可数名词复数，做主语时，谓语动词用主语是复数时的形式，比如：I have two sisters. Both are nice.

both也可以做限定词，限定可数名词复数，比如：Both her sisters are teachers.

另外both可以用在“both of+可数名词复数”结构里，比如：Both of her parents are teachers.

not both是both的部分否定，意思是“并非两个都”，比如：Not both of her elder sisters are teachers. 她的两个姐姐并非都是老师。

02 Either

either表示“（两者中的）任意一个”，做主语时，谓语动词用主语是单数时的形式，比如：You can stay or leave. Either is OK.

either也可以做限定词，限定可数名词单数，比如：He can write with either hand.

另外either可以用在“either of+可数名词复数”结构里，比如：You can choose either of the two dresses.

此外not … either是both的完全否定，意思是“（两者）都不”，比如：I don’t like either of the two dresses. 这两条裙子我都不喜欢。

03 Neither

neither表示“（两者中任意一个）都不”，是both的完全否定，可以代指可数名词单数，做主语时，谓语用主语是单数时的形式，比如：The two films are boring. Neither is interesting.

也可以做限定词，限定可数名词单数，比如：Neither game is interesting.

另外neither可以用在“neither of+可数名词复数”结构里，比如：Neither of the games is interesting. 这两个游戏都不有趣。
