Good morning friends!
I feel that it's kind of strange that I can't think of anything to write for my daily journal here.
I knew this is going to happen someday. Because this is not a real personal journal. I am writing stuff here for the world to see. And when I wish to have a bigger readership, there is not much interest in my articles. But if I do something wrong, I'm sure I would be in big trouble. So writing every day here and everything I wrote has to make sense is not an easy task.
Let me think. Let me think. Ok, I will start with what happened earlier today. I was working from home today. "Telecommuting", as they would say. Because nowadays almost everything happens in a connected environment. I work on computer simulated models on our servers through the internet. I can do my work and communicate with my team as long as I am connected to the internet.
But I noticed something very weird today. My mouse cursor didn't work properly. This is so important because I constantly needed to move the cursor to different mapping locations on screens and to zoom in or out of the images. The mouse cursor moved in a zigzag fashion made it very difficult to find the right objects quickly. I have tried to correct the mouse settings from the Windows Settings, but nothing seemed to correct the problem.
I finally had enough by the afternoon and called our IT for support. Ken from our IT office answered my call. After he tried to walk me through the same settings that I had done. Still, no improvement was made. Then Ken said, "Can you check the bottom of your mouse? There may be something stuck in there." I turned the mouse over and did see something in the hole where the red light shined out. It was a thin thread that stuck in the hole and over the red light. I used a pin to pick it out. Then I tried the mouse. Whala! Problem solved. As Ken said, "Sometimes, you need some low tech solutions to solve your problems." I wished I had called for help a little earlier!
Ok, so much for the day that I think I am having nothing to write.
Have a great day! Cheers!
