Whether reciting the English passage is necessary.
How do your teacher if you didn’t study English well? Most of the teachers will tell you just recite the passage. And somebody says there is an old saying about the reciting. “You will have a keen understanding of the book after reading it a hundred times”. What’s your opinion?
I think it all depends on whether you have somebody who can teach you English in your own daily life.
On one side, if your parents can create a vivid environment to learn English, you will find it easy and interesting. The interest is the best teacher. If you are interested in something, you will indulge yourself in it.
But most of us don’t have such a situation. So there is another way. That’s called reciting.
Some students don’t understand why they must recite the whole English passage. They think I will forget it sooner or later. So it’s meaningless. What’s your opinion? Some may agree. Some may not. Let me explain this way. Everybody won’t forget the word”mum”. Why ? Because we usually speak the word. According to The Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve. You will forget fast and then slowly. You will forget more and then less. So if you repeat more and speak more, I don’t think you will forget it.
Both of the methods are ok. We should choose the one that suits us well.
I’d prefer an English atmosphere if you can get. Or you can just practice all by yourself. But at first step, you must master a large amount of the words and sentences. And where do they come from? You know the answer.
